We're back (but why?)

After a long absence in which we wondered whether having a page about madridismo really involved paying far too much attention to madridistas, we've decided to come out of self-enforced hibernation. In part, this was prompted by the comments to the last posting, both of which caused much mirth here at a-m.
"Viikset" claims to be a "professional"journalist - writing for Scatology Today or something similar, it would seem - though a quick look at their blog confirms immediate suspicions: yup, a madridista. "Xavigr" is a little more confusing - in fact a visit to Club-antimadridista will find that we are listed there as a sympathetic site with a link back here; we have received hundreds of hits from that site itself. In gratitude we include a link here too, something we should have done before. The link at club a-m has a comments section, and we have received a few, though with mixed response. One comment suggests we're not anti-madridista enough, while another goes on to complain about comments we made about Luis Aragones. It's worth remembering that this page's mission statement was to be anti-madridista as well as anti-racist, and Luis Aragones has proven himself to be a racist scumbag on more than one occasion, and yet remains in his post, strangely - we don't apologise for complaining about that sort of behaviour.
It's also worth remembering that we write for English speaking audience primarily, though we're happy for anyone to drop in and query anything we've written, if it isn't clear.
So here's to 2006 and here's hoping for another blank sheet for the team we all love to hate.
